More than a Telegram group — a resource for exploring life in Chile

If you’re considering retiring, relocating, buying property, starting a new chapter, or simply trying to decide whether Chile could be right for you, it helps to have more than internet searches and pretty pictures. You need practical information, honest experiences and a place where you can ask questions.

Chile Expat Family is a private, subscription-based relocation research resource and a friendly, carefully managed community. Jim and Lori have lived in Chile since 2013, and both are personally involved in answering members’ questions and helping people understand what life here is really like.

• Practical planning resources, including detailed articles about planning a trip to Chile and getting around the country.
• A document worksheet to help organize the paperwork involved in researching and preparing for relocation.
• Our articles and videos shared in one private place, along with useful links and thousands of photographs. You will have access to 5 years of conversations and photos and links!
• Questions and discussions with Jim and Lori, our attorney, an expat builder and other expats who live in Chile and can share firsthand experience.
• Real estate information, including properties for sale and properties Jim and Lori have visited with members.
• A friendly, respectful atmosphere where people can ask questions, compare experiences and learn from one another.

A community with a personal touch

This is not an open social-media group, and membership is not automatic. We want to maintain a helpful, considerate environment where people feel comfortable asking questions — whether they are just beginning to explore Chile or already making detailed plans.

Jim and Lori participate in the group and answer questions. Members can also benefit from discussions with attorneys and people who have experience living in Chile. Our goal is to help you research the opportunities, practical realities and challenges so you can decide whether Chile fits your plans.

Membership pricing

One-time joining fee: US$100

Ongoing subscription: US$5 per month, payable in advance:

• Every six months: US$30
• Annually: US$60

The US$100 joining fee is paid once. The subscription is separate and renews according to the six-month or annual payment option you choose.
